After sitting for a moment and brainstorming on the best possible questions I could ask her, I had finally came up with a 15 question questionnaire. The very next day, model/singer, Amanda Lace had came through and happily answered them, even with a headache. In the confides of her home, Amanda Lace, 17, logs on into her computer and lets people get to know her a little better, by answering 15 simple questions...

(1) You've been singing for most of your life, what or who has inspired you to sing?

Well, when I first decided to sing, it was my grandmother who had just recently passed away who had inspired me. Then when I turned eleven, I became more serious about singing and wanted to do it more to try and help my family out, along with the fact that singing made me happy.

(2) What musical artists do you admire? And why?

I admire Aaliyah, she had a unique style. I also admire the ladies of 3LW because they have so much drive and really do deserve a lot more success and credit then they get. They were the first to inspire me to sing. I also admire Brandy, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Destinys Child and TLC.

(3) Out of all the artists you've met, who was the most exciting to meet? Describe that experience.

Well, I think I would definitely have to say 3LW because they are my idols and they are so humble, so down-to-earth and they treated me like family. I have met them many times at performances they have had and they are so family-like. I think also meeting Jennifer Lopez because she was really nice and a lot of people say she's a diva, but she came off very friendly and caring. A reason I look up to her is because she is a Latina woman who has made it very far and she does have a lot of success.

(4) I've read that you write your own music. I've always admired singers who write their own music. Shows how much they enjoy their craft. When you sit down to write your music do you write about personal experiences or do you brainstorm about different situations you could be in?

I like this question! [Laughs] You know what, it's a little bit of both. A lot of times, I do write about my own personal experiences, but sometimes I find it harder to write that way so I'll be like "Okay this happened to me and this is how I reacted. If I went about it this way, how would I have responded different?" So it's definitely a blend between the two.

(5) When writing, do you have to be in a certain environment to focus? If so, describe that environment.

Umm, not really. Sometimes I'll be in the car and I come up with a line and Im looking for paper and a pen so I can write that down and see what becomes of it, or sometimes I'll be with a friend and if a line comes to me, I pull out my phone and text message it to myself [laughs]. Other things that inspire me to write are like getting into arguments, or sometimes even though you trust your man you might think like, "I havent heard his voice all day, I wonder what hes up to..." and you'll come up with a song title like, "Is There Another?" and then you start writing like if she's the other woman. It's fun [laughs].

(6) Now that you are no longer a member of a singing group, how do you feel about having to face the music industry as a solo artist?

It's cool because I get to show my fans my creativity and through my music and my writing they can get to know me. But it's also harder because there are a lot of female R&B stars coming out and everyone's always being compared to each other. The public is also always comparing an artist to Beyonce and her success.

(7) Lets talk about the downsides of being in the music industry and how you plan to handle them. Everyone knows that part of being in the music industry means having to deal with your personal life being exposed. How does that make you feel?

Right now, I wouldnt say it's too bad because I have nothing to hide, but I do think it can get hard. For example, they see you walking in the street with a guy and automatically you're dating each other when it could be your best friend, or who ever. I think there has to be some kind of boundary with your private life. Another thing is, I wouldn't want things getting around with my family, I feel like just because this is the life I chose to live, they shouldn't be effected by it.

(8) Once you've entered the music industry, sometimes the people you once thought were your friends suddenly start to turn their back on you. I've read it happens to artists all the time. Does that scare you?

Not really. While I would say that I do have a lot of friends, I have only one whom I could trust with everything and I know she wouldn't turn her back. The others, I can only trust but with so much. Like, I don't trust everyone, maybe about 3-4 people at most. I do think though that along the way I'm going to find people that are down just for the ride.

(9) Alright, think! You just won three Grammys and have two platinum albums under your belt, all of a sudden a rumor is started! A horrible one at that! Whats your first reaction? How would you handle that?

See, most people are quick to stress about it, but I guess it depends on the rumor. My family and my closest friends would already know whether it was true or not, like I'm not going to be getting any calls at 3 in the morning like, "I heard this, this, and that is it true?" Nah, not from my people. As far as my fans... See this is where MySpace comes in [laughs] I could log in my account and post a bulletin or blog with the truth or I could just make an appearance somewhere and make sure I clarify it. I dont think I'll stress about it too much, but it does also depend on the rumor.

(10) Ok, Scary parts over! Describe your musical style.

I'm more R&B, maybe a little more pop-ish depending on the beat of the song and the lyrics. I think my musical style expresses who I am, like I'm a workaholic, but sometimes I like to just chill, kick back and be low key. I dress urban; jeans with a cute little shirt and some Jordans or Air Force. But I also have my moments when I could be really girly and wear the mini skirt and the cute little tops. Same in my music, I could talk about being shy around the guy I'm crushing on, but I could also sing about having that thug in my life. Like; Im the only girl in my family, and I only have one female friend. When I was younger, I was playing with Barbies, but growing up, I switched to Basketball.

(11) Speaking of style, you model! People are used to models being tall. But, the cool thing about you is that youre only 4'10. You'd be the first model to ever be 4'10. You'll be breaking all standards. How did you stumble into the modeling profession?

Well, my brother used to model when I was about 9-10 I think and I was always shy and didnt want to go through that. I was camera shy, but as I grew up, I started having interests in the entertainment business; all aspects. My brother started college for Digital Media, Film and Photography and he comes home like "I need to start a portfolio, let me take some pictures." And I wasn't shy because he was my brother, so I was down. After I saw how the pictures came out and got reactions from a lot of different people, I gained more of an interest and everyone always doubted me like, "You're too short, no body wants a short model." But I'm sitting there like, "I'm going to prove you wrong, this is what I want to do and this is what I am going to work for."

(12) Whats the most fun part about modeling? Do you enjoy it more than singing?

I think the best part of modeling is you get to jump into character. It's like acting. You put on a little bit of make-up and you just start posing, you get to have fun while you're just taking pictures. I think also the styles of clothing, just being creative. Both give me challenging moments, but I'm not sure I can say either of them are better than the other.

(13) Amanda Lace sings! She models! She writes her own music! And she's pretty great at it. But, how are the simple things like school for her? Describe school life, how do you handle peer pressure? Any plans on going to college?

I don't really have peer pressure to worry about which is good, school is good; I usually get straight A's though, but I've fell down some due to my working and dealing with my career and guys! [Laughs] Yes, I have gotten distracted. I do have plans on eventually going to college, but it was always for something in entertainment. So probably, graphic design or theatre. I'm also interested in writing, I want to write for a magazine one day.

(14) Do you aspire to do something else besides singing and modeling?

If I'm not singing or modeling, I am writing or designing, so like I said, one day I would like to be writing for a magazine. I also want to have my own clothing line one day, maybe trying to be an actress.

(15) One last question, you dont self-title your first album. Instead, you name it based on how you're feeling as a person at this very moment. Think about all the drama, tears, smiles, love, everything. With that said, whats the name of your album?

It's funny that you asked that because I didnt want to self- title my album; atleast not yet so the fans can really get to know me. In the past, I was thinking of naming it "Tears of a Broken Heart" after this song I started writing with how I was feeling. I couldn't get over this guy; we had mutually split, but for some reason I was always thinking about him. Me thinking on the spot though, the title that jumps into my head is "Love Like This." I don't know if I'll end up writing a song titled that [smiles] but if I do, it'll be about this guy I'm talking to. He's different from every other guy I've been with and I didn't know that I could feel him like this. I didn't want to fall for him because I've been hurt a lot in my past by the people I've cherished most, but he opened my mind about a lot of things and I llike him for the person he is.
